Search Engine Marketing
Search Engine Marketing, or SEM as some call it, is a reletivley new name for a not-so-new concept. You've probably heard it called SEO, Organic SEO, web marketing and the like. Basically, SEM is all of those wrapped into one. Put simply, SEM is the combination of a site-building methodology, market research/analysis, and diligence. At Spheriad, we build all of our sites with this site-building methodology. We construct the sites in such a manner that they will be recieved in the best manner possible by search engines and people alike.
This methodology is called Organic SEO. It is a combination of your sites text, title, search criteria and the way the site's code is put together. If this is not done properly, or at all, it will significantly effect the way a search engine views your site and what your rankings will be when your site is searched for.
The rest of the equation rests in diligence and a lot of market research/analysis. If you don't know who your competitors are or how they are doing things, you've already lost the battle. With some research, though, a succesful marketing campaign is off to a good start. This, coupled with search engine submissions, link building, and PPC (pay-per-click) campaigns, you can direct a great deal of attention to your site for little to no investment.
